Camera of the Year CES 2016 in Las Vegas

In January 5 the PMDA awards ceremony held at CES 2016 in Las Vegas – The imaging industry turned out last night to honor four members of the imaging community and one spectacular camera at the 50th Annual PMDA Imaging Night event at The Foundry Hall at the SLS Hotel.


The Sony A7R II was announced as the 2015 Camera of the Year. There was quite a bit of competition for the title, but when it comes right down to it, the A7R II’s mix of high-level performance and boundary-pushing technology made it the final choice.

Popular Photography’s Editor in Chief, Miriam Leuchter, then came to the stage to announce their coveted “Camera of the Year” award. Given for the first time at the PMDA event, the prize was award to the Sony A7r II, whose table leaped to their feet celebrating their big win.
